Global PechaKucha Day – Inspire Japan
Global PechaKucha Day – Inspire Japan will take place this Saturday, 16 April in more than 100 cities around the globe with the aim of generating ideas, solutions and funds to help rebuild Japan. PechaKucha presentations focussing on 3 main themes INSPIRE, JAPAN, THE ISSUES, RECOVERY will be streamed live on Ustream.tv, creating a non-stop ‘Mexican wave’ of presentations that will circle the globe.
Donations will be accepted at each event, as well as on the Inspire Japan website. All proceeds go directly to Architecture for Humanity and will be used solely to rebuild buildings in affected areas of Japan.
Visit the Inspire Japan website to watch presentations online or to find a participating city near you.
Japan is where the ‘PechaKucha 20 images x 20 seconds’ show-and-tell event format was born, and it has gone on to inspire designers to get together in 400 cities around the world, to share their creativity at more than 1000 events each year.
Japan has inspired us all, now is it our turn to ‘Inspire Japan.’
