Biennale of Sydney Project Patrons assist directly in realising each Artistic Director’s vision. They are vital supporters of the exhibitions and show true admiration for participating artists by financially enabling projects to be exhibited in Sydney.

This assistance towards ambitious artist projects, which otherwise may not be realised, is of crucial importance for each Biennale.

Visionary individuals, along with national and international galleries and institutions, make substantial financial contributions to the Biennale to assist with major commissions and become Project Patrons.

Project Patrons enable the presentation of major works in museums and exciting non-museum venues enlivening the city of Sydney. They assist with the development of an artist’s practice in bringing new commissions to life.

Project Patrons pledge, on average, a fully tax deductible donation of $25,000 to directly support an element of each Biennale program.

In recognition of this generous support, Project Patrons are acknowledged on the exhibition label and in a variety of publications, including the exhibition catalogue, handbook and the free Biennale of Sydney Guide, on exhibition signage and on our corporate and exhibition website.

The Biennale of Sydney ensure Project Patrons have a unique experience of the program, securing them access to the exhibition, artists and our extensive international and national networks. This includes joining a private tour of the exhibition with the Artistic Director, and, where possible, the opportunity to meet the artist(s) they have assisted to discuss their work, in-depth and privately.
